Streamline Designs
At age 26, Austin is considered, even by seasoned professionals in the industry, to be among the elite in custom vehicle designing and building. Austin was one of the six chosen Master Builders that was on the 2007 Easy Riders Events Centerfold Tour. This formally announced Austin as the “Youngest Master Builder In History”.
Austin grew up in Miami Beach in a house with two older brothers, many dogs and his father and step-mother. His parents, both in the field of interior design, always encouraged their boys to think creatively and ambitiously. Throughout Austin’s childhood, he developed a love of exploring new ideas and hobbies, including building and racing remote control cars, assembling erector sets, building race scooters, and playing paint ball.
Academically, Austin has always been gifted. Upon graduating high school, Austin attended Microsoft School and received his Microsoft Certification in networking. Soon bored with this field, Austin temporarily bartended in various nightclubs on South Beach and in Hollywood before returning for training in mobile electronics. He worked in this field for some time, building high end car audio systems. It was during this period that Austin was introduced to the field of welding. Austin’s interest was so peaked by welding, that he again returned to school, this time to a technical school where he became certified in stick, mig, and tig welding, and in the use of welding torches in various metals, including aluminum, stainless steel, mild steel, and titanium.
Austin’s vision, talent, welding ability, engineering skills, and impeccable attention to detail are illustrated in all of his creations. His first bike “Gettin’ Loose” won him several awards and in October 2005 he was awarded the “Editor’s Choice” for American Iron magazine where the bike took front cover and Austin was acclaimed to be at the “top of the world”. At the same time Austin was recognized by the international Rat’s Hole In November 2005, he won first place for Florida’s Next Top Builder for the Hard Rock Tour. He was also asked to participate in the world finals at the AMD Pro Show in Sturgis.
The bike “Hot Rod” was built to show a little old school with a lot of new. The bike placed first in the Metzler Tire/ American Iron show during Bike Week 2006 and was featured on the cover of Easy Rider magazine. Also in 2006, Austin
completed a bike for BudLight to promote their new aluminum bottle and went on tour around the country.
His celebrity clientele includes recording artist Lil Jon, will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas, NFL Player Reggie Bush of the New Orleans Saints, as well as comedian Carlos Mencia. Other high profile clients include Anheuser Busch and the Krieger Watch Company.
Austin has also branched out into designing unique parts and has a Patent Pending on the innovative Streamline Internal Throttle which is now sold to dealers, distributors, and retail clients. Other parts are presently being developed by Streamline Designs, Inc. and will be available to the marketplace in the near future.
“The Youngest Master Builder In History” has indeed achieved alot. With his intense passion for his craft and his unrelenting drive, the best is yet to come.
